There have been several changes since this facility was turned over to us from the Developer. Current water regulations require a permit for use of water for non-domestic purposes. RMRPOA no longer has access to the water from the well that originally supplied the waterfall. We are periodically watering the plants, but this is entirely due to volunteer effort to haul non-potable water from Boerne using Property owners personal equipment.

We are currently relocating the mailbox facility to the area immediately behind the flagpoles. In the future, we will evaluate rainwater collection facilities for use with landscaping. We will also consider alternative uses of the current waterfall and fountain, but it is very unlikely it will ever operate as it previously did.

We have completed three separate phases of interim repairs which have been certified and documented with the TCEQ. We believe the dam is structurally sound with an expected life of 10 -12 years before additional work is required under normal circumstances. 

The  dam in tilting forward and the permanent repair for full structural integrity is on hold for now. Extremely heavy flooding could cause earlier failure. 

BlueGreen is helping us with the permitting process, but approval of the water use permit has reached a stalemate.   Current TCEQ procedure requires an additional water source to make up the evaporation losses. That would force us to continously pump groundwater from Spring Creek Park well(s) into the pond. This is not practical or logical from an environmental or economic perspective. We are actively working to resolve this permitting issue.

Please call the Animal Control Division of the Kendall County Sheriff’s office at the Animal Control Hotline, (830) 247-9721, ext. 538  (Terry Bowen). This division is trained to handle such situations and responds promptly. Once this contact is made, please advise the Board by calling the POA message line at (830) 537-9993 or by sending an e-mail to the POA’s Vice-President of Standards via the contact page. The Board will maintain a log of such incidents to determine the severity of the problem and to seek appropriate solutions with the cooperation of the County.
